Our Charity of the Year is Rainbows Children’s Hospice

Three of our team members are tackling a triathlon in support of our new charity for 2025, Rainbows Children’s Hospice

At Weiss Technik UK, we’re always looking for meaningful ways to give back to the community. In 2023, we made a commitment to support a different charity every year, choosing causes that matter most to our team. So far, we’ve proudly supported Falcon Support Services, a homeless charity, and Forget-Me-Not-Chorus, which helps people affected by dementia. This year, we’re honoured to be fundraising for Rainbows, an East Midlands-based children’s hospice that provides exceptional care to over 750 babies, children and young people living with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.

The charity provides a wide range of care options, including palliative and end of life care, short breaks and family accommodation. Their mission is to help every baby, child and young person live life to the fullest, while giving families the chance to make cherished memories together. From providing pain relief and symptom management to offering emotional support during the most difficult times, Rainbows is there for families every step of the way, even after the unimaginable loss of a loved one.

Their mission is to:

  • Transform care for babies, children and young people who have a life-limiting or life-threatening condition.
  • Managing pain and symptoms to improve quality of life.
  • Helping every baby, child and young person reach their full potential.
  • Create lasting memories for families.
  • Providing comfort and compassion, both during life and after loss.

To raise awareness and funds for this incredible charity, members of the Weiss Technik UK Team, Emilie Roche-Miller, Louise Loach and Richard Cotterill, will be taking part in a sprint triathlon in March. They’ll be swimming, cycling and running to shine a spotlight on the vital work the team at Rainbows does every single day.

Later in the year, more of our team will be taking to the skies for a charity skydive, pushing themselves out of their comfort zones to support the brave families who face unimaginable challenges every day.

Rainbows is doing extraordinary work for children with serious and terminal illnesses, but they rely on donations to help them keep making a difference. Support our fundraising efforts by donating here.
